Did you know Canada has a desert—almost? Osoyoos, BC is home to one of the driest, hottest ecosystems in the country. While it gets just a little too much rain to be a true desert, the antelope-brush shrub-steppe is a rare and fragile landscape, sheltering at-risk species like the Behr’s Hairstreak butterfly, Great Basin spadefoot toad, and pallid bat. It’s a place of resilience, adaptation, and deep knowledge.
